Get your biometric ID card at Boots!

You lucky people in the Manchester area will be the first to queue outside Boots to get your biometric ID cards! Because the project is now costing a staggering £5.3 billion instead of the original "quote" of  £200 million (of course we can afford it!), the government has been in talks with Chemists and local photographic shops to become ID Card outlets.

Go on then, be good little biometric sheep, that's what Jacqui and this government want, to chip you, barcode you and catalogue you.

That's right, sheep first, humans next!

Don't be deterred. They're only pilots, they're not intelligent people you should take notice of, nanny knows best!

You can see that we want them, can't you Jacqui?

However, Phil Booth, of the civil liberties group No2ID, described the latest initiative as a “secret launch for something that does not exist yet”.

He said: “This is a face-saving exercise to avoid ministerial egg on face. It is a stunt to say they have started to sign up volunteers for this scheme, and to create the impression of moving forward, because for every step they take, they take two steps backwards.”
